Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-09
This Cookie Policy explains how AppStaff uses cookies and similar storage technologies when you visit our maritime recruitment platform. We keep this short because we do not track you across the web — there are no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, and no marketing trackers on AppStaff.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember things between page loads — for example, that you are signed in, or that you prefer the English interface. Some technologies, like localStorage, are not technically cookies but work in a similar way. We mention them here for transparency.
Cookies we use
AppStaff sets only the cookies needed for the site to function and to remember basic preferences. We do not set any cookies for advertising or behavioural profiling.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| OCSESSID | Cookie (essential) | Keeps your session active so you stay signed in and can use the dashboard | Session |
| language | Cookie (preference) | Remembers your selected interface language | 30 days |
| currency | Cookie (preference) | Remembers your selected currency for any displayed pricing | 30 days |
| appstaff_cookie_consent_v1 | localStorage (not a cookie) | Records that you have seen and dismissed the cookie notice | 1 year |
Third-party cookies
We deliberately keep third-party scripts to a minimum. Specifically:
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics service.
- No Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar social trackers.
- No advertising or marketing trackers of any kind.
The only third-party script that may load is Google Maps, and only when you open a contact page that embeds a map. When that happens, Google may set its own cookies under its own policy. If you do not open a contact page, no Google script is loaded.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that disabling the OCSESSID cookie will prevent you from signing in to AppStaff, as the session is essential for the dashboard to work.
Updates
If we change which cookies or scripts the site uses, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will also trigger the cookie notice to reappear so you can review it.
